SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region and Kayah, Rakhine States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.67 inches in Kawthaung, 4.33 inches in Chaungsone, 3.62 inches in Hlegu, 3.23 inches in Maubin, 1.57 inches in Mawlamyingyun, 1.54 inches in Ingapu, 1.38 inches in Yangon(Botahtaung), 1.30 inches in Coco-Island, 1.26 inches in Hkamti and 1.22 inches in Myaungmya.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago, Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States.
