SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.35 inches in Kyeikkhame, 5.59 inches in Mudon, 5.12 inches in Chaungsone, 4.53 inches in Hainggyigyun, 4.45 inches in Kalay, 4.17 inches in Ye, 4.06 inches in Sittwe, 3.31 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 2.87 inches in Coco Island and 2.60 inches in Nyaunglaybin.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and strong over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls rain or thundershowers in Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States.
