SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.35 inches in Phyarpon, 4.69 inches in Kyaukpyu, 4.41 inches in Hainggyigyun, 3.74 inches in Sittwe, 3.70 inches in Thaton, 3.11 inches in Nyaunglaybin, 2.71 inches in Hpa-an, 2.68 inches in Paung, 2.60 inches in Kyeikkhame and 2.48 inches each in Hpa-an (Agro-Met) and Chaungsone.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and strong over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Special Features: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southwest Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal(India) has moved West-Northwestwards and become into a well marked low pressure over Gangetic West Bengal(India).It is likely to move slowly Northwestwards  and weeken gradually.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-13 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States.
