SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 9.34 inches in Katha, 3.82 inches in Paung, 3.74 inches in Thaton, 3.66 inches in Mohnyin, 3.58 inches in Hainggyigyun, 3.46 inches in Chaungsone, 3.39 inches in Ye, 3.19 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.15 inches in Mawlamyine and 2.91 inches in Shwekyin.

BAYINFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over North Odisha and adjoining West Bengal, India became less marked. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th June 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 28th June 2025: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, widespread in Yangon Region and scattered in Mandalay Region.
