SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States, scattered in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.07 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.92 inches in Taunggu, 2.44 inches in Taunggu(Avia-Met), 1.65 inches in Phyu, 1.54 inches in Zalun, 1.50 inches each in Okpho and Hainggyigyun, 1.38 inches each in Hlegu and Pathein, 1.34 inches in Putao and 1.22 inches each in Tharrawady and Bogale.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and strong to vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Kachin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
