 25-7-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 18 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to cross Genetic West Bengal, North Odisha, Jharkhand and adjoining North Chhattisgarh during next 2 days. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.76 inches in Paung, 2.60 inches in Ingapu, 2.48 inches in Sittwe, 2.28 inches in Nyaunglaybin, 1.81 inches in Homalin, 1.77 inches in Ngathaichaung, 1.73 inches in Kyaunggon, 1.72 inches in Danubyu, 1.69 inches each in Shwekyin and Laymyethna and 1.65 inches each in Dawei and Pinlaung.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Special Weather:  According to the observations at 12:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West Bengal, India still persists. It is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards and across Jharkhand and north Chhattisgarh, India during next 2 days.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
