SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Chin State, scattered in Sagaing Region and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin, Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.74 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 5.67 inches in Hainggyigyun, 5.59 inches in Ela, 4.69 inches in Mawlamyine, 4.33 inches in Mogaung, 4.21 inches in Mudon, 4.17 inches in Chaungsone, 4.05 inches in Pyinmana(Walgyi), 3.58 inches in Laiway and 3.50 inches in Belin.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
