SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.67 inches in Sittwe, 3.82 inches in Homalin, 2.87 inches in Hlegu, 2.79 inches in Hkamti, 2.40 inches in Einme, 2.24 inches in Pinlaung, 1.97 inches in Kawkareik, 1.81 inches each in Wettigan(Laydatpyin) and Kyeikkhame, 1.77 inches in Okkan and 1.58 inches each in Naypyitaw(Dekkhinathiri), Hmawbi(Agro-Met) and Madauk.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
