SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Kachin, Kayin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.51 inches in Danubyu, 2.01 inches in Hainggyigyun, 1.97 inches in Myaungmya, 1.88 inches in Kawthaung, 1.81 inches in Okkan, 1.65 inches each in Phyarpon and Einme, 1.61 inches in Coco Island, 1.54 inches in Kalewa and 1.42 inches each in Khayan and Labutta.
BAYINFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area has crossed to the (South Odisha - North Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) moved west-northwestwards and reached to Inland over South Odisha and adjoining North Andhra Pradesh Coasts. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at time in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Southern Shan States.
