SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kayah, Kayin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 8.74 inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), 4.96 inches in Ye, 3.30 inches in Pyinmana(Walgyi), 2.48 inches in Wettigan(Laydatpyin), 2.25 inches in Paing Kyone, 1.93 inches in Mawlaik, 1.89 inches in Bago, 1.77 inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), 1.73 inches in Chaungsone and 1.70 inches in Laymyethna.
BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
Special Features: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Kajiki” over south china Sea has moved westwards now lies over Tonkin Bay. It is centered at about 30 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Vinh, 190 Nautical miles North-Northwest of Da Nang (Vietnam).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th August 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast and 8-10 feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavyfalls rain in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.
