SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Northern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.00 inches in Machanbaw, 4.53 inches in Thazi, 2.91 inches in Mudon, 2.83 inches in Mahlaing, 1.97 inches in Shwekyin, 1.88 inches each in Madauk and Kawthaung, 1.77 inches in Paung Byin, 1.73 inches in Kyeikkhame, 1.62 inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri) and 1.42 inches in Taungoo(Avia-Met).

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas  are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
