2-12-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts and South Andhra Pradesh coasts is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 80 Nautical miles Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 20 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Chennai(India). It is likely to recurve slowly Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Depression during next 12 hrs.Weather is generally fair over the Andaman Sea, cloudy over the Northwest Bay and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Myeik (5.00)inches, Dawei (4.30)inches, Hlaingbwe (3.93) inches, Saw (3.65)inches, Launglon (3.58)inches, Yay and Paung (3.38)inches each, Shan-Ywar-Thit (2.72) inches, Thandwe (2.67)inches, Putao and Mindat (2.55)inches each, Yamethin (2.43)inches, Paing Kyone (2.40)inches and Kawkareik (2.36) inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region, Kachin, Chin and Kayin States.
