BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Mawar” over Philippines Sea has almost stationary and still persists. It is forecast to move Northwards slowly.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Southern Shan, Kayah, Kayin States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady regions and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35)mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
