SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in (Southern and Eastern) Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and isolated in Mandalay, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above December average temperatures in Bago Region and Mon State, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin States, (5°C) to (6°C) above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Chin States and about December average temperatures in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions. The significant night temperatures were (9°C) in Hakha, (10°C) each in Putao, Tiddim and Tongzan and (12°C) in Machanbaw. The noteworthy amount of rainfalls recorded were (1.70) inches in Minesat, (0.28) inch each in Heho and Myeik, (0.16) inch each in Namsam(Southern Shan) and Mogoke and (0.12) inch in Loilin.
BAY INFERENCE : According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “MICHAUNG” over Westcentral Bay of Bengal off South Andhra Pradesh and adjoining North Tamil Nadu coasts has moved nearly Northwards almost to South Andhra Pradesh coast and crossing South Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Machilipatnam and near Bapatla. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 06th December 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Chin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Chin States.
