23-5-2024:  According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move northeastwards and intensify into a Depression over Central Bay of Bengal around 24-5-2024. Thereafter, it may continue to move northeastwards, further intensify and reach Northeast and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal around 25-5-2024 evening.Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State and rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Bago Region and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.29) inches in Dawei, (1.77) inches in Hkamti, (1.62) inches in Hakha, (1.58) inches in Bago, (1.42) inches in Tamu, (1.34) inches in Theinzayet, (1.22) inches in Moemate, (1.06) inches in Tongzan, (0.83) inch in Belin and (0.79) inch in Hmawbi.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak over the elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th June, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw and Rakhine, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
