17-2-2026:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean on 18-2-2026. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

     According to the (12:30) hrs M.S.T observation today, the water level of Ayeyarwady River at Myitkyina is (592) cm, the water level rose about (10) feet within(1) day.

   The water levels, which rose at upper Ayeyarwady river, may rise above their present water levels by about (8) feet to (9) feet at Bhamo, Shwegu, Katha and Thabeikkyin during the next (1) to (4) days, about (6) feet to (7) feet at Mandalay, Sagaing, Myinmu, Pakokku and  Nyaung Oo during the next (5) to (8) days, about (3) feet to (5) feet at Chauk, Minbu, Magway, Aunglan, Pyay, Seiktha, Hinthada and Zalun during the next (8) to (13) days.

   It isadvised that the vessels running along the river and those who made plantations on sandbank during these period should make precaution measures for the rise of water level.
