 25-7-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 18 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to cross Genetic West Bengal, North Odisha, Jharkhand and adjoining North Chhattisgarh during next 2 days. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Condition of La Nina in December, 2022

  1. The Sea Surface Temperature (SST) over Tropical Pacific Ocean near the Equator and atmosphere phenomena reaches weak La Nina condition.According to the International Meteorological Agency, Numerical Weather prediction models are expected to remain weak La Nina level during December.
  2. Although the La Nina conditions occur at Pacific Ocean, more frequently occurs Easterly Waves, more low pressure areas may form over the theAndaman Sea and Bay of Bengal, decrease of night temperatures in some Regions and States will occur due to the impact of La Nina.
  3. La Nina Condition will be updated in time.
