SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and isolated in Magway Region and Rakhine State. Weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperatures in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayin States and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and (5°C) above January average temperature in Northern Shan State and about January average temperaturesin the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (4°C) in Mongyang, (5°C) each in Heho, Hakha and Tongzan and (6°C) each in Namsam, Pinlaung and Kengtung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (0.08) inch each in Myitkyina, Paletwa and Matupi and (0.04) inch each in Hakha, Falam and Homalin.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th January, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States, scattered in Mandalay Region and isolated in Magway Region and (South and East) Shan, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Kayah State and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-6) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States.
