SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region and Southern Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk, (42°C) in Myinmu and (41°C) each in Magway, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi and Hpasaung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.87) inches in Chaungsone, (1.97) inches in Belin, (1.57) inches in Kyeikdon, (1.19) inches in Nyaunglaybin and (1.14) inches in Shwekyin.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Mawar” over Philippines Sea has moved Northwestwards and it is forecast slowly continue to move Northwestwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Magway Region and Eastern Shan, Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35)mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
